Edmodo, Webcasts, and Polar Bears

Oh my!

What could these three possibly have in common?

Edmodo has partnered with Polar Bears International to host a free 3-day event which will be on November 14, November 15, and November 16. These webcasts will be hosted by experts in marine science, curriculum, biology, and environment.

To read more about this, go to the Edmodo blog: "Event Details for Tundra Connections Global Webcast." The different days will cover different aspects of arctic life with the polar bears. Teachers can register their class for one day or all three days. By joining the Polar Bears International Community in Edmodo, teachers will receive resources and lesson plans. Teachers and students will also be able to talk globally with other classrooms around the world.

My co-worker Mandy Durrence was looking at the information on Polar Bears and came across some more great resources. Polar Bears International has created some free educational tools and materials to go along with these webcasts. There are powerpoints for all grade levels, mini posters with pictures of polar bears and polar bear facts, music videos, bear videos, and a quiz. Great resources, come on, check out the polar bears!

To register your class, go to the Event Details and click the link next to each day that says "Register Your Class". Follow the directions and fill out the registration form completely (each page). Make sure you register your class for each day that you are interested in viewing the webcast.

Remember, if you haven't already, join Edmodo (you can get your school access code from your Tech Facilitator), and join the Polar Bears International Community once you are in Edmodo.
